For the spring 2019 issue of Orion magazine, I wrote a review about Yuko Tsushima’s slim novel, Territory of Light. In it, Tsushima explores the passage of time in a setting confined to a small apartment shared by a newly single mother and her young daughter. Together, they navigate the mundanity of day-to-day life and living.
