ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST | DEC. 2019

The glass-and-steel structure, located at 56 Leonard Street, towers high above its neighboring buildings, and is perhaps best described as Jenga-like, with entire sections of the building higher up excavated for a delicate and design-forward aesthetic. Many have private terraces that offer up stunning, unobstructed views of the city below. According to Herzog & de Meuron’s official website, the residential building was created “to achieve, despite its size, a character that is individual and personal, perhaps even intimate.”

It’s been nearly two and a half decades since Richard Jewell’s name first made headlines in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (then just known as The Atlanta Journal) after he discovered a backpack pipe bomb at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park. ROLLING STONE | OCT. 2018

A massive crowd gathered on a misty Sunday to honor the late grunge pioneer Chris Cornell. The Seattle Museum of Pop Culture unveiled a life-size bronze statue of the late Soundgarden singer, which was commissioned by his widow, Vicky Cornell. She was there with their children Lily, Toni and Christopher, as well as Cornell’s former bandmates Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd.

“It’s a reflection of his light, a light that shone through his music and touched millions,” Cornell said during the ceremony. “A light that he used to illuminate our lives, and a light that will continue to inspire those in the future. This statue represents that light — a beautiful, powerful, incomparable presence in a hometown worthy of someone as special as Chris.”

Robert Selby may have an impressive set of abs, but the Virginia dad’s fit physique isn’t the reason why his recent selfie has gone viral. In fact, it’s Selby’s son Chace who steals the spotlight in an Instagram post that has now garnered more than 118,000 likes.

“My son is sucking in his stomach, trying to show off his abs like his daddy but all you see are his little ribs,” Selby, 33, captioned the image, in which Chace stands atop the bathroom counter to be on the same level as his dad.
